Horween 'Paisley' Shell Cordovan Mr. Gripper
Sometimes a piece of leather shows up that feels less like something made and more like something discovered.
This Horween Shell Cordovan Mr. Gripper started life as a small experimental shell that Horween pressed with a paisley pattern and finished in a marbled cocoa tone that shifts in the light like old leather that’s already lived a few lives. The effect is strange in the best possible way. Part refined shell cordovan. Part dusty frontier relic.
The shell itself was small, which meant we could only yield three Mr. Grippers from the entire piece. That’s it. Three.
The pattern and color together feel like something you might stumble across hanging on an old saddle in a forgotten tack room somewhere out west. A dreamy mix of texture, history, and experimentation that doesn’t quite look like anything else we’ve seen come out of the tannery.
It’s shell cordovan, so it already carries that unmistakable density and smooth hand. But the pressed paisley and marbled cocoa finish add a strange elegance that feels both old world and slightly unhinged.
Experimental Horween shell. Three pieces in existence. And a little bit of dusty magic.
