Every pouch is hand cut with skiving knives from Japan, then hand skived with the same blades that have shaped bags in our workshop for years. They are sewn inside out with MIL SPEC thread, then turned right side out by hand on an old wooden turning chair Mr. Lee built more than thirty years ago. It is a ritual of patience. Slow work. Careful work. The kind of work that never gets rushed because the result is worth the time it takes.

About Essex Rookery Leather 

Horween Essex Rookery Leather is a premium full grain, vegetable tanned leather created with the same liquors used to produce Shell Cordovan. It is infused with oils and greases that give it a supple, almost buttery feel and a natural aniline finish that never looks artificial. Essex Rookery is soft in the hand yet strong enough for daily use, and it ages with depth, darkening and evolving into a patina that becomes unmistakably your own. Flexible rather than rigid, it is ideal for pieces that reward touch: wallets, pouches, bags, and anything meant to be carried and trusted for years.
